THERAPEUTIC WEEKEND DAY RESPITE PROGRAMMING

The Weekend Day Respite Program offers the much needed service of weekend programming in a specialty environment trained to manage and meet the needs of children who have been identified as emotionally handicapped, severely emotionally disturbed or at risk for such issues. While in care, the client will take part in the problem solving curriculum called “I can problem solve”. The program emphasizes teamwork and cooperative learning through playful physical activities that improve students' critical thinking skills for problem solving, social skills, social adjustment, and adaptive behaviors. Daily outings will assist children to integrate lessons learned during community based activities.
